So this has probably been the most eratic month that I have had as a poker player. This is probably due to me starting to take shots at 5/10 NL. Ive played pretty well this month with an exception of 2 huge losses, one being uncontrollable and the other day I just “lost my mind”. Anyways after those two losses i managed to put together a winning week directly after and make up for my losses. I realized that prior to that i was making really impulsive decisions when i got raised on the river when i knew i was beat. I would consistenly get gay raised (min raised) on the river and kept calling because I couldn’t put my opponent on a hand. This is probably the biggest flaw in my game right now. I sometimes find myself in situations where I have a pretty big hand and get raised and I say to myself “well I cant put my opponents on these particular hands, so he must be bluffing”. Ofcourse i was wrong 9/10 times which doesnt seem to profitable. Anyways in the past few days I have begun to write notes to myself reminding me that i keep making this mistake. And this simple little note that I wrote in note pad and kept next my poker tables has saved me alot of money in the past few days. So this is something i recommend to players who are having similar problems, it will keep you reminded the whole time you are playing and allow you to play better poker.
